The Wellness-Hotel Luz del Mar is the ideal starting point to hike with different difficulties along the Teno Mountains or the Coast. Every other week we offer 2 or 3 guided hiking tours for 5 persons or more. Book them directly at the front desk.

The classical! We reach de coastline of the gorge by boat and climb up the ravine to the picturesque Masca village.
Teide National Park - Guajara
Discover the unique crater landscape around the highest mountain in Spain.
Wine Routes
A half-hour walk through a typical island winery and its vineyard, discovering the work of the winemaker. Wine tasting and Canarian tapas included.
Rambla de Castro
Deserted drainage channels and palm groves - gallery path along the coast There is much to discover.
A tour around Teno Alto
We explore the Teno Mountains right before our front door. Fantastic views over the north of Tenerife.
For your individual hiking tours "on your own" we are pleased to provide you some information and maps. You can walk into the nearby Teno mountains or along the coast to Garachico or Buenavista directly from the hotel. Start with a short tour through the historic town centre of Los Silos. At Plaza de la Luz you will find the starting point of three signposted hiking trails with spectacular views.
We certainly help you to pursue your individual wishes, from the organized hiking tour into the famous Masca gorge to exploring trips including the ascent of the Teide volcano. We will be happy to advise you.
Twice a week the Hotel also offers guided hiking-tours with guides - minimum 2 persons. These two hiking tours are organized and carried out by El Cardón, a small company from Buenavista which is specialized in nature and active tourism.
Tuesday: Ruta de las Tradiciones
During this 4-hour-trip we learn the history and tradition of the local inhabitants. Particularly impressive are the performances of the traditional “sheperd jump”
Thursday: Masca Gorge
From the small village of Masca, we walk down the most famous gorge of Tenerife. Once we reach the sea we get on a boat and enjoy the great views of the volcanic island from the boat. If we have some luck we may see whales. Lunch on board is included. Hotel transfer is also included.
