Climate
Due to the proximity to the African coast, the pleasant climate of the Canaries is mainly influenced by the trade winds and the particular relief of each island with occasionally significant height differences. Tenerife is therefore very popular it has a mild climate all year round. Characteristic for the east of the island are the trade winds and the cloud formations, which - especially in winter - drop their rain on the mountains and produce a fascinating spectacle of light and mist. The fresh to damp climate ensures particularly lush vegetation in this area.
On the other hand, the western part of the island, protected from the wind by the mountains, is mostly cloudless and thus a little drier. The Canaries are known as the "Islands of permanent spring” with averagemidday temperatures of 22° C in winter and 27° C in summer. The water temperature varies between 18° C in winter and 23° C in summer and thus invites you to bath all year round.
